March 3rd Poetry Slam: “6 is 9”

Get your poems ready!  Our March Poetry Slam event is fast approaching!

On Wednesday, March 3rd, The Field Library in Peekskill is proud to present slam poet Khary Jackson (aka “6 is 9”). Khary Jackson is a poet, teaching artist, playwright, actor, dancer and sometime musician.  Originally from Detroit, Jackson now represents the Twin cities, including on the Champion 2009 St. Paul Slam Team.

He will hold a series of workshops and performances at Peekskill’s Middle and High schools with a culminating public performance and open mike, for all ages at 3:30 p.m. in the Field Library. Refreshments and pizza will be served.

Khary Jackson (aka “6 is 9”) is visiting Westchester at the invitation of Eric “ZORK” Alan, the host of Poetry Slams at the White Plains Public Library and the Yonkers Public Library.

One and all are welcome to attend and PARTICIPATE, and refreshments will be served.
