WORDPLAY: Teen Poetry Workshops at The Field Library
Tues. March 12 & 19, April 2 & 9 @ 3:30 PM
Open Mic Performance:
Sat. April 13 @ 1:30 PM
The Field Library presents WORDPLAY, an innovative series for Teens & Tweens in middle school and high school that combines the writing techniques of poetry with the theatrical performance element of spoken word.
The series offers 4 dynamic workshops culminating with an Open Mic Performance where participants can share their creations with an intimate audience. Each hour-long workshop provides guidance in expression, introspection, public speaking, constructive criticism, editing, and teamwork. Workshops will provide a supportive community and a place to receive feedback and new ideas. The series is led by local poet, Ibrahim Siddiq, with guest spoken word artists each week. Pizza & snacks will be served.
WORDPLAY is generously underwritten by a grant from the H.O.P.E. For Youth Foundation, supporting HudsonValley youth programs that foster healthy growth and positive achievement.
